Boree Lane Ramble 14 October 2017

What a lovely day the Boree Lane Ramble turned out to be. Great weather, great support team (my wife Carmel, her sister Pam and her husband Valto, son Robbie and daughter Georgina) and a great group of Ramblers! I met the 56 Ramblers at a gate in the fence as they were handed over by Jonathan from Stockman’s Ridge.

Our Dietician son, Robbie designed the food menu and created the dishes that were beautifully matched with the three chosen wines.

The first course was a Cauliflower and Blue Cheese Soup that perfectly complemented the Boree Lane Trifecta, a “fruit salad” of aromas and flavours from the Gewurztraminer, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc blend.
The second wine was our elegant, food friendly 2013 Shiraz matched with a Lamb Risotto (some red wine and rosemary in there too). For the final offering, Pear and Blue Cheese Fritters to bring out the wonderful citrusy flavours in our gold medal winning 2015 Chardonnay.

Prising people away from the sun or shade from the nearby eucalypt, they were guided down the Lane to be met by Justin Byrne in his hi-vis vest, to be taken to the next stage at Strawhouse Wines.

Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience and there were plenty of compliments that made all the hard work worthwhile. Massive thanks to Carmel, Robbie, Georgina, Pam and Valto.
